John Daly wins his 1st Tournament in 8 years

John Daly, possibly one of the most iconic golfers in the history of the game has won his first tournament in more than 8 years, and in doing so has picked check for $8,000. Daly commenting on the win, which in monetary terms is small change, said the win would help his confidence going into next season. The win came at the 3 round pro-am tournament at Antalya, Turkey.

The PGA is filing for documents to be released by IMG, in reference to their ongoing legal battle with Fijian golfer Vijay Singh. Singh who is trying to sue the tour regarding his suspension over the use of the Deer Antler spray which contained IGF-1, a banned substance. Singh claims that he has lost sponsorship revenue as a result of the sanction, although the PGA Tour believes that documents held by IMG could suggest that Singh was losing his appeal to big name sponsors, before his suspension from the tour.

Tiger Woods is upbeat after tying for last place in his heroes tournament, Woods who finished level par tied with Hunter Mahon, said of his relief and joy at being back on the course competing. During the week scores of supporters witnessed how a break from golf can affect even the greatest players, with Woods´ short game causing some dismay amongst fans.

Woods will have his eyes securely set on the upcoming Masters Tournament, a tournament he has won on several occasions and has a fond place in his heart.
